On Saturday, September 14th, the Alabama Crimson Tide faced a nonconference opponent, the Wisconsin Badgers. This game was played in Madison, Wisconsin, at Camp Randall Stadium, where the Crimson Tide dominated the Badgers, winning 42-10.

Wisconsin Badgers Head Coach Luke Fickell spoke with Wisconsin Athletics after the game Saturday about his thoughts on the outcome, and he didn't see many positives as his team received a beating and was dominated throughout the entire contest. Fickell stated that he informed his players, "If you haven't had your ass whupped before, you just did". The Badgers' head coach went on to explain how he informed his players that this was going to happen in this sport, and all they could do was go on to the next week and attempt to improve.

Following Saturday's 32-point setback against the Crimson Tide, Luke Fickell told Heller Sports that the Badgers were defeated in all "three phases" of the game today. Alabama dominated the game from start to finish. Alabama controlled the offense in both halves, scoring 21 points each and surrendering only one touchdown all game, late in the third quarter.

In Wisconsin's defense, beating a top-five college football team is never easy, especially when your starting quarterback goes down early in the first quarter. This was the case for the Badgers after starting quarterback Tyler Van Dyke transferred from Miami this offseason. Van Dyke suffered a leg injury early in the first quarter after receiving a solid hit while attempting to escape out of the pocket.

Luke Fickell was asked about the severity of Tyler Van Dyke's injury, and Fickell hinted that he doesn't know much about it other than that he wasn't able to return to the game and that the medical team will find out more after they perform an MRI on Van Dyke.

Fickell is in his second season with the Badgers after a 7-6 season last year. The Badgers are 2-1 after this disappointing loss Saturday and will look to recover and regroup during their bye week next week, when they will open conference play Saturday, September 28th at LA Memorial Stadium against Big 10 foe the 11th-ranked University of Southern California Trojans.
