Northport Teacher Nominated For Teacher Of The Year
It is always a great honor for West Alabama when one of our own is recognized statewide.

It has happened again with a teacher at Echols Middle School in Northport, Alabama.
A beloved teacher has been named one of the finalists for the 2026/2027 Alabama Teacher of the Year.
Only 16 teachers in the state are up for this great award.
John David Booth is the teacher being recognized by many in education across the state for his outstanding performance and dedication to students.
Mr. Booth was named TCSS secondary teacher of the year in February.
He advanced in the Alabama Teacher of the Year selection process and has now reached the next round of the annual Excellence in Teaching selections.
Mr. Booth is a beloved teacher who teaches eighth-grade history at Echols Middle School.
He also recently graduated from both the TCSS Aspiring Administrators Academy and TCSS-U, a program to educate community members about the Tuscaloosa County school system.
Before becoming a TCSS faculty member, Mr. Booth was a student in Tuscaloosa County.
What a terrific story.
Mr. Booth is a proud graduate of Sipsey Valley High School.
