A presidential visit is an honor. I don't believe it matters which side of the political fence you are on, either.

The most powerful leader in the free world will be in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on Thursday.

Yes, the headline for this story is dripping with sarcasm.

First, you have a massive amount of security preparations to go over and only a few days to get it done.

President Donald Trump initially announced the visit on his social media platform, Truth Social, and it took a day or two for the University of Alabama to confirm.

I'm sure the security will include multiple sweeps of Coleman Coliseum inside and outside, and we expect the use of K-9s during the event as well.

Nobody wants anything but an event free of any security issues.

So much has been made out of the possibility of protestors in Tuscaloosa on Thursday. Would anyone expect an event free of protests? I highly doubt it.

I'm certain that Trump's team is expecting it and has plenty of experience dealing with it.

In addition, you have social media rumblings on 2025 graduates and UA staff/faculty only having a 24-hour window for requesting tickets.

While I have not confirmed this with anyone at the University of Alabama, how much time were people expecting for a presidential visit?

If that's not enough, social media is also ablaze with stories of Alabama "coddling" President Trump and threatening to discipline any hecklers.

Again, I don't care about your politics, but that is not the place and time for "hecklers" in my opinion.

Agree, disagree, with the President is not the issue for this visit.

The eyes of the nation and the world will be on Tuscaloosa, Alabama, this Thursday.

Let's act like we deserve it.
