Massive, Shocking Announcement For Tuscaloosa Dropping Thursday Morning
I’m in media, so yes, I’m aware that sometimes we hype things up and make them seem bigger than they really are.

This is one of those times when I can honestly say I’m not sure we can build this up enough to equal the impact it’s going to make on West Alabama, and for that matter, the entire state of Alabama.
If you were asked to name, let’s say, the top five stories in the history of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. What would you say?
I don’t know how to put these in order because I know someone’s going to disagree with how you put these stories in a top five. Maybe the top ten is better because it's hard to say.
So, I asked AI what they would list as the top stories, and here's what it came up with:
- Mercedes-Benz opened a plant in Vance, Alabama, in 1997. It is hard to quantify the full impact that Mercedes's arrival in West Alabama has had on this region—billions in economic impact and thousands of jobs for people in this state.
- Saban, Bryant national championships. Way too many to pick from, and that's a good thing.
- The day Bear died. January 26, 1983. I don’t know what words you can even use to describe what a monumental day in 1983 this event was in Tuscaloosa and across the state of Alabama.
- Sticking with football, two dates, one story. January 3, 2007. The day everything changed, Nick Saban was hired as Alabama's head football coach. January 10, 2024. I don’t think I need to explain what happened on that date.
- Thursday, October 30, 2025. I understand that puts what is coming on Thursday morning in some high cotton when it comes to the history of West Alabama; however, I think it will definitely rank in the top five or ten stories at least in the past 50 years, if not longer.
The official statement will be posted on this site a little before 8 AM this Thursday.
I’ve had many people ask me if it's sports-related.
Is it related to some major corporation coming to town?
You will have to judge all of this for yourself when the announcement comes this Thursday, but I do believe everyone will be talking about it, and I don’t think you want to miss it.
