New Data Shows DCH Ranks Among Top Alabama Hospitals
DCH is celebrating good news as new Leapfrog data reveals the West Alabama hospital as one of the top ranked in the nation when it comes to patient safety and quality.
According to a press released sent to Townsquare Media, DCH Regional Medical Center, Northport Medical Center, and Fayette Medical Center received high marks for patient safety and quality in their latest review. All three of the DCH hospitals received a grade of B from Leapfrog in its spring 2024 Hospital Safety Grade report.
“Every day, our caregivers focus on quality outcomes, positive patient experiences, and creating the safest patient environment possible,” Luke Standeffer, senior VP/administrator for DCH said.
“This rising Leapfrog grade is the result of the commitment and collaborative efforts by our team to ensure that we provide outstanding care and service for our community.”
The new grade from Leapfrog shows significant progress for DCH. According to the press release, two years ago DCH’s facilities received a grade of D. DCH’s latest grades reflect a continuous focus on improvements in quality and patient safety measures over the past few years.
According to Hospital Safety Grade, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses up to 30 national performance measures from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the Leapfrog Hospital Survey and information from other supplemental data source.
Leapfrog grades hospitals in areas that include infections, problems with surgery, safety issues, leadership and practices to prevent errors and the number, quality and satisfaction with doctors, nurses and hospital staff.
