Aliceville Man, 74, Charged With Human Trafficking, Child Sex Abuse & More
An Aliceville man has been charged with human trafficking and multiple counts of child sex abuse in Pickens County, with court records indicating the alleged offences involved a minor victim and spanned years.
Jessie Bonner Jr., 74, of Aliceville, was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Pickens County Jail without bond.
He faces one count of first-degree human trafficking, two counts of second-degree sodomy, four counts of second-degree sexual abuse, and five counts of sexual abuse of a child younger than 12, according to court records filed Tuesday afternoon.
According to the human trafficking complaint filed in Pickens County Circuit Court, Bonner is accused of knowingly providing compensation in exchange for sexual conduct with a minor between 2018 and 2026.
The other documents allege incidents of the minor's sexual abuse over the years.
The warrant was executed by the Pickens County Sheriff's Office Thursday. Bonner is held without bond pending a judicial hearing. The charges have not been proven in court.
As the Thread has previously reported, Pickens County and the city of Aliceville have been at the center of a wide-ranging child exploitation investigation that earlier this year resulted in the arrests of four educators and a local police officer on charges related to child sexual abuse material.
