Kicking off 2022 Black History Makers of Alabama we would like to honor Judge Sybil Cleveland of Huntsville. A native of the state and the epitome of black excellence, Judge Cleveland has served over 20 years as a judge to the city of Huntsville.
Nakami Townsell is currently a 2nd grade teacher and the director of the 21st Century Community Learning Center at Southview Elementary School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She has been an educator for 18 years and loves every minute of it.
Harrison Taylor was Tuscaloosa's first Black city council president for 12 years. He also was a foot soldier in the civil rights movement of 1963-1964.
