The Alabama Crimson Tide have fallen to No. 3 in the College Football Playoff Poll. The Tide fell one spot despite defeating No. 21 Arkansas 42-35 to win the SEC West. The Oregon Ducks fell from the top four after suffering a crushing 38-7 loss to the Utah Utes.
The College Football Playoff committee released its second edition of the 2021 poll on Tuesday night. There were no changes in the top two spots, but with Michigan State's loss to Purdue, there was a new team in this week's playoff group.
A College Football Playoff sub-group proposes a 12-team playoff format. This proposal will be reviewed multiple times over the next few months and could be implemented as early as the 2023 season.
