Alabama head football coach Nick Saban tested positive for COVID-19 putting his status in doubt for Saturday's contest with No. 3 Georgia in Bryant-Denny Stadium. Saban began his quarantine on Wednesday and was evaluated today by team physician Dr. Jimmy Robinson. The Alabama Athletic Department provided an update on the legendary coach.

Alabama is set to take on the Missouri Tigers in its season opening game this Saturday at Faurot Field. Last week, first-year head coach of the Tigers, Eli Drinkwitz announced his team would be without 12 scholarship players due to COVID-19 protocols. After meeting with the media today, Drinkwitz clarified that after more testing the Tigers would only be without just seven players after several players were removed from the quarantine list.

The Crimson Tide students largely appeared to do a good job following the health and safety protocols that have been put in place this year amid the coronavirus pandemic. The Alabama athletic teams took to social media to show its student athletes on campus donning masks to lead by example.
