A Homewood, Alabama murder suspect was apprehended in Tuscaloosa and taken into custody early Thursday morning.

A suspect has been arrested and charged with attempted murder in a shooting at Hay Court Apartments earlier this month.

A former correctional officer with the Pickens County Sheriff's Office has been arrested on several charges including criminal solicitation to commit second-degree rape, second-degree sexual abuse, and electronic solicitation of a child.

Mitchell and Taylor will receive at least 22 felony counts of breaking into vehicles that were parked at various hotels around the state between Oct. 10 and 11.

He pleaded guilty earlier this week in a Tuesday afternoon hearing after Circuit Judge Sam Junkin denied a request for him to be charged as a youthful offender.
