The Alabama Crimson Tide takes on the Tennessee Volunteers this Saturday, Oct. 15 at 2:30 p.m. in Knoxville. McKinstry and Arnold appear to have the starting cornerback positions locked down. It will be interesting to see how much impact Ricks might make on this Alabama defense going forward in 2022.
Alabama freshman cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry announced this week on his social media accounts a partnership with Bojangles. McKinstry, who was recently named to the SEC All-Freshman team, announced the return of the Bojangles Supremes.
According to Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports, Alabama senior cornerback Josh Jobe underwent foot surgery this week and will be unavailable for the Tide's playoff run. Jobe has been dealing with a turf toe injury that has impacted his availability most of the year.
It only took two games for Kool-Aid McKinstry to make an impactful play for the Alabama Crimson Tide. McKinstry, the top player in the state of Alabama in the 2021 recruiting class, intercepted a Drew Sanders batted ball in the first quarter to give the ball back to the offense at midfield.
In a roughly 160-play practice, one player that stood out was freshman defensive back Terrion Arnold, who picked off Bryce Young while earning reps with Alabama's second-team defense.
