The Northridge Jaguars (1-0) and Central Falcons (1-0) were scheduled to play one another on Friday night in AHSAA week two action. The game has been postponed until Saturday at 10 a.m. after a vulgar video depicting a Northridge football player leading a group of students in insensitive cheering went viral Friday morning.

“We are one school system and one community and what happened today does not reflect the values of the Tuscaloosa City Schools,” said Mike Daria, TCS superintendent. “We are committed to modeling both good citizenship and good sportsmanship."

A portion of the video can be seen below.

Tickets purchased for Friday's game at Falcon Field will be honored for Saturday's rescheduling, however additional tickets will not be sold.

Northridge Principle Dr. Tygar Evans released a statement on his personal Facebook account assuring the community that appropriate actions will be taken in response to the video.

"They (Central's Team) saw the video. It wasn't a good video. I think once you look at the video, quite naturally you can understand some of their responses when they did see it," said Falcons head coach Rodney Bivens. "I just told them, 'it's something that's outside of your control, just look at what you can face and then look at what you can handle.' We're just going to move forward and get ready to play, whether it was tonight or tomorrow morning"

Townsquare Media reached out to coach Mike Vickery for comment. The story will be updated as further information develops.
