The Junior League of Tuscaloosa will be hosting their annual meeting on Monday, May 9th to recognize members and distribute thousands of dollars in Community Grants.

Twenty-six organizations applied, four of them will receive grants totaling $5,000. A committee selected the recipients based on projects that most closely align with the Junior League of Tuscaloosa's mission of promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.

The Junior League estimates the five projects to be funded will have an outreach of 25,000+ children and adults.

Mayor Maddox plans to attend and speak at the Monday, May 9th event scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. in the The District Room, located at
551 20th Ave in Tuscaloosa.
