The Tuscaloosa Police Department is asking for the public's help to identify the man who caused three area schools to go into lockdown Tuesday morning after he was allegedly spotted nearby with a handgun.

 

TPD Spokeswoman Lt. Teena Richardson said Tuesday that the person in question is described as a white man in his early to mid-twenties wearing all black clothing with long hair tied up in a "man bun."

 

Richardson said the man is thought to be driving a black vehicle that might be a Volkswagen.

 

Anyone with information on the man's identity or the vehicle depicted in the photos above is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 205-752-7867.

 

UPDATE 2:10 p.m. : TPD Spokeswoman Teena Richardson said Tuesday afternoon that the man has been identified and was not a threat to the schools.
