18 Year-Old Gets 20 Years For Hanging 9-Year Old Half-Sister

Why would a 14 year old hang and kill his 9 year-old half-sister? What could she have possibly done to deserve being hung from a tree in her yard?

John Dillon Salers was indicted on one count of capital murder for May 10, 2012 death of 9-year-old Katelyn Arnold.

Saler now 18 was sentenced to 20 years in prison today after pleading guilty. He will get credit for time served.

According to authorities Katelyn was riding her bike when her half-brother called her over to the tree. Katelyn’s foster mother found her hang from a rope. They were in the care of uncle and aunt at the time of the incident.
