Halloween is over, and while the stress of finding the perfect costume comes to a close, so does Malice in Otherworld (based on the theory of "Alice in Wonderland" gone horrid), Tuscaloosa's largest haunted house attraction for 2014.

Upon my arrival to the haunted house for the first time, my first thought was "Oh my goodness. This house really looks like it could be haunted for real!"  Slightly shaken, I slowly emerged from my vehicle and approached the house. To add to the fear factor, I had to walk through the darkness to the back of the house, which is where the exhibit began.

In small groups of four or five, attendees entered the door of the haunted house, where they were greeted by "The Hatter."  The shrieks could easily be heard from outside, striking fear into many of those who waited outside for their turn to enter.  That alone made some decide not to go inside.  But those who did go in were met with many more surprises before reaching the final exit. (Some had to stop in the middle of the tour because  they were just too afraid to go all the way through.)

Here's what you missed if you didn't go into the house, or if you didn't make it all the way through. A camera was actually trapped to the head of a person on the tour.

Be on the lookout for what we have in store next Halloween.  One thing is for sure: The only treat you'll be getting is in the tricking as you encounter the unexpected around every corner.  We hope to capture the fear in your eyes next time.
