5 Alabama Hospitals Charge The Highest Prices To Uninsured Patients

It didn’t surprise me when I read that 5 of the 50 hospitals that charge the highest prices to patients out of network and those who are uninsured are in Alabama.

The sixth most expensive hospital in the country is Gadsden Regional Medical Center.  Gadsden Regional Medical Center charges patients up to 11.9 times the cost of treatment paid by Medicare.

Other hospitals in the area that made the list are Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham, Decatur Morgan Hospital – Parkway Campus in Decatur and Stringfellow Memorial Hospital in Anniston.

Florida leads the list with 20, followed by Pennsylvania and Alabama and Texas.
