Today, the city of Memphis will bid farewell to blues legend B.B. King with a tribute and processional down Beale Street, according to the AP.

One little-known fact about King is that is birth name was Riley B. King. He became known early in his career as "Beale Street Blues Boy," which was shortened to B.B. So, it is only befitting that he be honored on Beale Street, especially considering the fact that this is where his Memphis restaurant is located.

Musical tributes and speaking will be at W.C. Handy Park. The processional will begin at 12:45p.m. at Beale and Second Streets, making its way down Beale Street before turning onto B.B. King Blues Highway.  After today's tribute, King's body will be taken to Indianola, Mississippi for his funeral Saturday.
