With our first Bacon & Brewfest around the corner on Nov.1st,  I was toying around with different bacon inspired dishes when it occurred to me that to do any bacon dish you've got to get the main ingredient right.

So I was off trying different ways of preparing my beloved bacon. I first followed the directions on the package. That was O.K. but doing it in a skillet means constant watching.

The broiler method means you have to be careful not to incinerate it but it does give crispy strips of bacon goodness.

The oven method (not mentioned on some packages) seemed to me to be the best, least attention draining way to get the perfect strip of bacon. Just put the bacon in a long pan lined with foil and bake for 20-25 mins at 325-350 degrees and viola, you have perfect strips that can now be devoured with the help of a cold beer.
