Following the success of The New Edition Story, BET will air a minseries dedicated to founding N.E. member Bobby Brown.

According to Variety, The Bobby Brown Story will be penned by Abdul Williams and executive produced by Jesse Collins - both were involved in creating the three-part TV biopic, The New Edition Story. Brown's biopic it will be a two-part miniseries chronicling the singer's rise in the R&B game, from his days with New Edition to his solo career.

There's no word if actor Woody McClain will reprise his role as Bobby Brown for the new project. The New Edition Story drew over 29 million total viewers and was the number one cable biopic of all time in the ratings.

Additionally, BET will also bring a six-part documentary series on the history of Death Row Records. Produced by Entertainment One (eOne) and Creature Films, Death Row Chronicles is being described as "part true-crime murder mystery and part hip-hop drama." The docu-series will chronicle the success of the label's roster (Snoop Dogg, 2Pac and Dr. Dre) and show how the chart-topping and record-breaking sales came to a bloody and controversial end because of co-founder and CEO Marion “Suge” Knight. Each episode will be an hour long.

BET didn't reveal airdates for their two major television projects.
