The Heavyweight Champion of the World, Deontay Wilder has been cleared by the WBC to take on another challenger as a voluntary defense of his title. It all got sideways when just before his scheduled fight with Russian boxer Alexander Povetkin was cancelled because Povetkin failed his pre-fight drug test.

According to ESPN Wilder said he is eager to get the next opponent lined up. The Champ also had this to say,

I will sit down with my team and work on finding a suitable opponent as soon as possible, so I can give my fans the performance that they were deprived of because Povetkin decided to use a banned substance. I continue to work on my goal of being the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

According to Wilder,

I didn't do all that for nothing. Somebody has to pay for it and it's going to be my next opponent.
