Spotify's list of the most-streamed artists of 2017 has taken shape, but who finished the year at the top of the pack?

The streaming site announced today (December 5) that Ed Sheeran, who released Divide and massive singles "Castle on the Hill" and "Shape of You" at the top of the year, officially earned the title of 2017 champion with upwards of SIX-BILLION STREAMS! Sheeran may not have come through where Grammys nominations were concerned, but there's no arguing his success by this metric.

“There is no doubt that 2017 was The Year of Ed Sheeran and we are thrilled that so many millions of music fans have discovered, listened to, and shared his music on Spotify. Congratulations to Ed on an amazing achievement,” Spotify’s chief content officer Stefan Blom said in a statement, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Sheeran's “Shape of You” was the top track (1.4 billion streams) — beating out Drake's "One Dance" as the most-streamed song ever — and Divide was the top album (3.1 billion streams). The "Galway Girl" singer beat out the likes of Drake, The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar and The Chainsmokers, who rounded out the list of Top 5 most-streamed artists.

Absent from the overall Top 5, though, were any women. Still, Rihanna put up a showing among exclusively female artists, beating out the likes of Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande and Sia.

And where breakouts were concerned, Camila Cabello earned top honors.
