For the presidential election, Tuscaloosa county voters turned out very well for Donald Trump. He received almost 48,000 votes, while Clinton only had about 32,000 votes.

In all, 83,000 voters turned out to vote in Tuscaloosa this year, which is five thousand more people from previous elections years.

A lot of people felt this election year was do or die, so most did not feel inconvenienced by standing in long lines. There were still people walking in to vote an hour before the polls closed last night. For next election season, officials are thinking about moving to electronic books to keep voter registries organized

However, some city officials say even though more people voted than previous years, it still wasn't more than 70% of the county. Which begs the question, what were non-voters thinking. It was a close election, and some of those votes could have made it more clear.

A couple of things happened on voting days, such as fliers being passed around that Democrats were to vote today. Also, a poll center in Alberta City ran out of provisional ballots.

All in all, it was a great election night for Tuscaloosa county.
