"I Feel Like He Deserves It" Tuscaloosa Reacts To Chauvin Verdict

The verdict is finally in on former Minnesota police officer Derek Chauvin. He has been found guilty on all charges.

To be honest, I was very tense watching the verdict being read. After seeing the footage of George Floyd being killed I just couldn't imagine another not guilty verdict in a major case such as this one. I can't fathom the grief, hurt, and anticipation George Floyd's family and friends must've felt leading up to this day.

After the verdict was read, I immediately took to the radio to not only let people know what the verdict was but to hear their thoughts. I can only imagine what other parents might be feeling. To know that it could've been their child who is no longer here isn't an easy thing to feel.

When asked about the verdict and how they felt, one listener, said she wasn't too happy about the situation and she feels like "he deserves it."

Another listener by the name of Samantha went in-depth about her feelings with the verdict. Samantha said how she

"If it was the other way around society wouldn't have wasted any time putting a black man away." Samantha went on to say, " I feel like he's getting what he deserves and I hope he spends the rest of his life in prison."

Samantha continued to give her thoughts about the verdict and the case in general. Take a listen to what she had to say below.
