Don't let my recent posts fool you, I'm probably in the worst shape of my life. But, as of now I'm on a health kick. So much so, that I tried a kickboxing class for the first time at Shelton State College.

I usually shy away from any group fitness classes, I always feel like people are staring at me and judging. But, 2017 is all about getting out of your comfort zone and trying new things.

My kickboxing class is at 830 AM, and boy it was a hard time waking up. I got there and instantly got nervous. There was one main instructor, Dee, and two others Dolores and Leah. They were funny and kept the morale in the room high.

The class was amazing. I don't think I've sweat so much in my life (TMI). I survived the class, but I didn't master it. There were times when I felt like stopping and sitting out, but I kept going. The key is to walk around the room if you need a break because you don't want your heart rate to shoot down to fast, that can cause you to pass out. ( Thanks, Dolores)

The next morning I woke up sore in body parts I haven't used in years.

I think I might try a group yoga class next!
