One part of enjoying the city where you live is knowing about different special events to attend when they occur.

This Saturday, September 15th, the Tuscaloosa Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. will celebrate its Jack and Jill Day. From 9:00 a.m. until 12 noon, the Lake Lurleen State Park will be a place and time for family, fun, food, and fishing.

This event is set to honor Carole Robertson and the 3 other little girls who lost their lives in the 1963 16th Street Baptist Church bombing in Birmingham, AL. Robertson, is said to have been a member of Jack and Jill of America.

As part of the day of remembrance, the organization will also be collecting books for local charities.
