John Wall's brilliant on-court performance in the Washington Wizards victory over the Boston Celtics on Monday was eclipsed by his emotional postgame interview.

Wall couldn't hold back the tears during an interview while talking about a 6-year-old girl he befriended who died earlier in the day.

Wall and Miyah Telemaque-Nelson, who had been diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma, became friends last March and they remained close until she passed.

Wall finished Monday's game with 26 points and 17 assists to lead the Wizards to an overtime win.

Afterward, his emotions got the best of him, forcing an early end to the interview.
