Local Drug Bust Nets 41 pounds Of Marijuana

The old saying that crime doesn't pay still holds true. Wednesday, the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force seized 41 pounds of marijuana, other drugs and $18,173 in cash along with 2 vehicles in Northport.

Authorities say that this was the result of a 2 month investigation. Arrested was Christopher Williams. He was charged with trafficking in cocaine and trafficking in marijuana.

Tuscaloosa police Lt. Teena Richardson said that Task force agents carried out a search warrant Wednesday at a home in the 300 block of 29th Street, where they found a haul of drugs and cash.
