For those of us who watched and enjoyed the movie "Mrs. Doubtfire," the movie's producers did a great thing when they deleted the following scenes from the movie's final edit.

We know the movie was about a man (Robin Williams) dressing in drag and presenting himself as a female sitter so he'd be able to spend time with his children and that the children eventually discovered his secret, but had these scenes remained in the movie, it might have taken on a whole new mood.

While 8 more minutes wouldn't have made the film too much longer, these 8 minutes definitely would have changed the movie. In the final copy, it's easy to feel a little sorry for "Daniel," as his character is relatable: Mr. Fun Dad, unable to find substantial employment, has a dream, etc.  But the spelling bee scene would have spoiled that for me. Show up late AND make a scene? Nah. I wouldn't have felt sorry for him at all. In fact, I'm almost at the point of saying, "I don't blame Miranda for leaving him. Who wants to deal with all of that?"  However, I have to remind myself that these are actors, and the story is fictitious.

Woosah, Jade. Woosah.
