Just as James Spann delivered the news that Alabama's long dry spell will continue this week, Tuscaloosa Fire & Rescue Service will not be issuing burn permits.

Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue warns that there is to be no outdoor burning in the City of Tuscaloosa to help reduce the chance of avoidable fires. Failure to comply with this order could result in criminal charges entailing a $500 fine, court costs, and possibly incarceration.

The recent declaration is in consideration of current conditions and the statewide Drought Emergency Declaration declared by Governor Bentley.
