Public Swimming Pools and Splash Pads In Tuscaloosa for 2017

As the temperatures in Tuscaloosa start to warm up, nothing beats an afternoon at the pool or splash pad to cool off. 

Luckily for residents of Tuscaloosa, there are quite a few choices for places to cool off and relax, whether it be by yourself or with the kids. A great resource for information, as you’ll see in this list, is the Tuscaloosa County Park and Recreation Authority.

Bower’s Park Pool features the Super Splasher Slide and is open for the summer. The daily rate is $10 per person without a Tuscaloosa PARA outdoor aquatics membership. Children under 2 are free.

Here are the hours:

  • Monday-Friday – 11a-6p (through August 7)
  • Saturday – 11a-6p (through Labor Day weekend)
  • Sunday – 1p-5p (through Labor Day weekend)

The Harrison Taylor Splash Pad will be open through Labor Day. Entry is $5 per person with children under 2-years-old admitted for free.

Group discounts are available for groups of 10+. Call or email Mark Harrison at 205-331-5600.

  • 12p-5p Monday-Friday (through August 7)
  • 12p-5p Saturday (through Labor Day weekend)
  • 1p-5p Sunday (through Labor Day weekend)

Freeman Pool

Freeman Pool is open to the public through Labor Day. Their hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 12pm-5pm, Saturday 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm, Sunday Closed. The pool is reserved for groups on Tuesday & Thursday. Daily admission is $4 per person, after 3pm, admission is $2. Saturday swim sessions are free from 11a-1p and 2p-4p.

Evans-Roshell Park Splash Pad

4006 20th Street NE, Holt, AL



Evans-Roshell Park Splash Pad is free and open to the public each day from dawn until dusk. The park is a wonderful places to walk, enjoy a picnic or to let your kids play in the cool water of the splash pad!



Fayette Aquatic Center

218 23rd St NE, Fayette, AL



The Fayette Aquatic Center will be open everyday until August 8 and then weekends only through Labor Day. The hours are Monday – Saturday from 10am-5pm and Sunday from 1pm-5pm.

Admission is just $10 per person, non member. Season passes will also be available for $100 per individual and an additional $50 per family member.



PARA also offers access to three indoor swimming pools around Tuscaloosa, which also offer classes like water aerobics. All three have the same hours:

Monday-Friday 6a-7:30p

Saturday 8:30a-7:30p

Sunday 1:30p-4:30p
