Reebok Classics Brings Back Shawn Kemp Kamikaze II Mid ‘Trail Blazers’
Reebok Classics has dropped a total of 12 Kamikaze II Mid kics over the past 365 days, and now they’re giving sneaker heads lucky number 13 by adding the Shawn Kemp “Trail Blazers” to the collection.
During his heyday with the Seattle Supersonics, Shawn Kemp started rocking the Reebok Kamikaze II during his 1995-96 season. During that same season, the then $3 million man played as a starter during that year’s All-Star game and took his team to their first NBA Finals appearance. He did this all while wearing his Kamikaze IIs. So after years of waiting, Reebok Classics is finally bringing back the sought after Kemp model.
While it was his days in Seattle that made fans notice the retro sneaker, it was his time with the Portland Trail Blazers that made fans pay homage to the rubber soles that kept the power forward moving up and down the court. So what better way to pay tribute to the player and the kicks than naming them after him and his team?
Kemp’s signature sneakers come in a black, white and red colorway and feature his “iconic lightning/zigzag design with an added speckled midsole and ice bottom.” As these are sure to sell out fast, only a limited pair of the Kamikaze II Mid “Trail Blazers” will hit stores next Friday (Dec. 13). Retailing for $100, the kicks will be available at Foot Locker, Finish Line, Champs, DTLR, Shiekh, Kicks USA and of course reebok.com.
