Student Hit By Police Car

A Mountain Brook Junior High cross-country runner is in the hospital after being hit by a patrol car.According to al.com, a 14-year-old runner was crossing Montevallo Road near Country Club around 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

Mountain Brook police said the student saw the oncoming patrol car and tried to turn back around when he fell and was struck in the leg by the vehicle.

The officer stated that the traffic light was green.

The runner was taken to Children's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
