Six schools in Tuscaloosa County are entering into a program to feed primary school students breakfast in the classroom instead of the cafeteria. Breakfast is the most important meal for children attending school, it gives them the energy they need to stay awake.

According to AL.com the program will give school children breakfast in the classroom instead of the cafeteria, so that every child has an opportunity to eat, no matter their bus route or family situation.

With around one in five children in the United States lives in a household that struggles with hunger, and the program will make breakfast available to every student who wants it.

In Tuscaloosa County, the program is being launched at Matthews Elementary, Holt Elementary, Crestmont Elementary, Vance Elementary, Myrtlewood Elementary and Davis-Emerson Middle School. Full Story
