Without a doubt, education is one of the most powerful tools we can give our children.  Whether it be in the classroom, life application, or oral history, the more our children learn, the better equipped they are to function as contributing members of society.

It’s better to have knowledge before it’s needed than to rush to gain information to make informed yet last-minute decisions.

One of the most proactive organizations in terms of equipping young people with the tools they’ll need to navigate through society is Jack and Jill of America, Inc.

On Monday, September 28 at 6:00 p.m., the Teens of the Tuscaloosa Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. will host a virtual event: Empowering Our Voices. One Voice at a Time.

This will be an evening of discussion about the 2020 election and the importance of voting, which exceeds far beyond the fight for voting rights for minorities and includes political terms, appointments, and powers afforded to elected officials. The conversation will also cover how to be involved in voter engagement, ways to mobilize today’s youth, and the challenges faced by some communities.

While it’s great for the youth to gain this education, there are some adults who could benefit from the conversation as well.  Anyone who would like to join the free event is welcome.  Click here for more information and to register to attend.
