The Justice Department Asked To Look Into The Possible Voting Rights Violations In Greene County

I want to give thumbs up to U.S. Representative Terri Sewell, who has sent a letter to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder asking for a Justice Department investigation into the possible violations of the voting rights of the people of Greene County.

Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange authorized the raids of the Greene County Casinos last Monday morning.

The citizens of Greene County in 2003 overwhelmingly voted in favor of state constitutional amendment 743 to authorize electronic bingo in the county.

Sewell also shares the concerns of the citizens of Greene County that the raid are politically motivated and that the voting rights of the people of Greene County have been systematically ignored by the State of Alabama. Full story here!
