This evening, the City of Tuscaloosa will kick off its April 27 recovery celebration with an open house at the Richard A. Curry Environmental Services building to reaquaint citizens with funding programs available for projects within the recovery zone.

This morning, Gov. Bentley will attend a ceremony in which officials will break ground on a 52-mile road that would complete a perimeter highway around Birmingham, the state's largest metropolitan area.

So far 64 bodies have been recovered from a sunken ferry off South Korea, but there are still 240 people missing. The ferry captain and two crew members have been arrested on suspicion of negligence and abandoning people in need. The captain is being criticized for waiting more than 30 minutes to order an evacuation.

Runners are lining up for the Boston Marathon today, a year after two bombs ripped through the race, killing three people and wounding more than 260 others.
