William Robert Mitchell has pleaded guilty to killing Jeff Grant, his girlfriend's estranged husband, in September 2012. Mitchell accepted a plea deal, sentencing him to 30 years with parole eligibility after 15.

Gov. Bentley says he and state lawmakers have already been meeting about possible solutions to the state's general fund budget. It is believed that there will be a hole of at least $200 million in the budget because voters two years ago approved of taking money from a state trust fund to support the budget, but that bail out expires this year.

Federal prosecutors say a Utah truck driver, who is accused of keeping two women as sex slaves, had four other victims. He lured the women to his truck then forcibly changed their appearances and ground down their teeth while holding them prisoner for months.

A surgeon working in Sierra Leone will be flown to the United States tomorrow to be treated for the Ebola virus. Dr. Martin Salia, who is a citizen of Sierra Leone, lives in Maryland and is a legal permanent U.S. resident.
