This Sunday, the Tuscaloosa County Preservation Society will hold its annual Christmas Open House at historic sites around Tuscaloosa. From 2 to 5pm, the Battle-Friedman House, McGuire-Strickland House, Jemison-Van de Graaff Mansion, Old Tavern, and Murphy African American Museum will have free admission and entertainment.

Attorney General Luther Strange says a phone scam involving jury duty is spreading to more Alabama counties and it often targets the elderly.  The scam involves someone pretending to be with law enforcement of the local court system, threatening to arrest the person they call for missing jury duty unless money is paid.
