What is the Alabama Legislature thinking about? They refuse to pass a lottery why I don’t know. Helping Outstanding Pupils Educationally (HOPE) is funded entirely by the Georgia Lottery for Education, and it also funds Georgia’s Statewide pre-kindergarten program.

The HOPE Program started in 1993. Since the program began over $6.4 billion in HOPE funds have been awarded to more than 1.5 million students attending Georgia’ universities, technical colleges and colleges.

After three attempts the Alabama Legislature passed the General Fund budget. Is it real or is it Memorex? It sure looks a lot like last years.  I guess we should feel good that the Alabama Legislature only taking $80 million from our schools.

I wonder how much Alabama money is spent on out of state lotteries.
