When we go through changes in life, it's often hard to adjust to a new normal. For those who've served in the armed forces, things they've experienced as well as moving from military to civilian can be extremely tough.

The US Department of Veterans Affairs has taken an active role in suicide prevention for veterans especially; and on September 16, an online forum will be held to benefit women veterans.

It is said that women veterans are 12 times more likely to take their own lives than civilians. In the upcoming Facebook chat, women veterans will receive a number of resources and other information to aid in suicide prevention.

Often times, people around us suffer in silence. They don't know how to deal with depression and aren't always comfortable with sharing their feelings with others. So, if you know of a female veteran, don't just assume everything is ok. Please share this with her. It may save her life.
