We've all heard the saying "do something strange for a piece of change." And without fail, people always call me to ask for concert tickets. Some make very tempting offers in exchange, even though I've never been able to take them up.

So far, I've been offers have included the following:

  • A free meal every week
  • Car detailing
  • Lawn care services
  • Babysitting services

Now, some offers that I've received can't be shared online. (Hey, this is open for viewing by children and teens.)

All of this made me wonder how far some people are willing to go for particular prizes/opportunities.

For instance, I'd stand in the median on Skyland Boulevard in front of the radio station holding a sign saying "I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream" for 8 hours every day during the week of Christmas if an ice cream company agreed to give me a gallon of the ice cream of my choice once every two weeks for the rest of my life. I know that sounds a bit far fetched, but I'd also be willing to let a child hit me in the face with a cream pie if WTUG meets our fundraising goal for St. Jude next year.  On the serious side, I worked for free (as an intern) for an entire year, just to get my foot into the door at my current job.

Tell me, what would you do for certain things?  What would you give to have a certain person in your life?  How much would you pay to eat at one restaurant for free for the rest of your life? What would you do for a lifetime of free doughnuts? Or free tickets to a concert to see your favorite artist? What would someone have to give you to clean up the horses' dung at the Christmas parade?

It's all in fun.  Come on and play along. What would you do for _______(it)________?
