I have never been more impressed by Xfinity Home than I was this weekend!

Since I had a remote Saturday, I asked my daughter's godparents (my cousins) if they would babysit for me.  They agreed and asked if I could keep their son while they attended a Christmas gathering later that night.  Of course, I agreed.

When I went to get my daughter from their home, I also picked up their son.  It just so happened that my brother was pulling up at the same time to pick up his daughters, who they'd also been babysitting.  When my nieces saw that our cousin was leaving with me, they wanted to come with me, too.  So, my brother and I decided to have a Family Fun Night.  He and his wife also picked up her sister's daughter and son and brought them to my house.

Until they all arrived, my daughter, my cousin, and I went On Demand to find a movie that we watched until they arrived.  Once they got there, pure pandemonium! A three-year-old girl, a three-year-old boy, a four-year-old girl, a six-year-old girl, a seven-year-old girl, and a ten-year-old boy all under one roof?!?!  These children are playing together as they usually do when I start to hear my alarm going off.  I start making my way to the console that manages it, and the three-year-old boy is just having a field day pressing buttons!  At the same time, my phone begins to ring.  It's Comcast.

They called three times back to back.  Apparently, different call centers received notifications of the alarm going off.  That little boy must've been just standing and pressing buttons as fast as he could.

I finally got the situation under control.... Or so I thought.  Ten minutes later, a sheriff's deputy was knocking at my door, saying they'd received an alert.  I told him that it was a matter of a child being curious.  I apologized for having him to come out for no reason. He said he understood and that he had to come out to check things out.

Of course, I found the whole situation to be quite funny.  I mean, that little boy was having a GREAT TIME pressing buttons!  I've since moved the console to a less reachable location, but I am very impressed with the response time of both the security company and the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's department.  If I wasn't sold before, Xfinity Home reeled me on in Saturday night.
