Two Tuscaloosa establishments are featured on a recent road trip list around Alabama, created by OnlyInYourState.com.

OnlyInYourState.com is a website that takes an interesting look at unique attractions, news, food, and stories of life in each of the 50 United States. Past articles have been about everything from unsolved mysteries in Wisconsin to a list of 11 dishes you have to eat in Illinois before you die.

I found one article on the state of Alabama particularly interesting, mainly because it features two Tuscaloosa restaurants! The "Epic 3-Day Restaurant Road Trip In Alabama" takes the adventurer through three whole days of driving and eating through much of our beautiful state.

The trip starts with eggs, bacon and grits at the historic Waysider restaurant on Greensboro Avenue. The Waysider features a weekly breakfast and lunch menu but is open for breakfast only Saturday and Sunday. The atmosphere and wall-to-wall Crimson Tide decor keep this restaurant packed from open to close.

To finish out day one, the list takes you to Guntersville for coconut shrimp and then to Opelika for a rack of lamb dinner.

Day two consists of breakfast in Phenix City, a barbecue lunch in Enterprise and ends with fried crab claws in Bay Minette.

If you decide to take the journey, your third day of traveling and eating begins with a bagel in Mobile before grabbing a burger in Jackson. After lunch, the final leg of the trip takes you back home to Tuscaloosa where you can sit down and fest on the Thai nachos at Avenue Pub on the Strip.
