Doctors and law enforcement officers are the two people I’d like to think I can trust. If it were left up to me anyone impersonating either one of them would be locked up somewhere and forgotten about.

Like the former Prattville police who was indicted by an Autauga County grand jury last week on six felony charges.

John Wayne McDaniel Jr.,46, of Prattville was indicted on: one count of unlawful possession on Ambien, one count of second-degree theft of Ambien for a pharmacy, extortion by obtaining money by means of a threat and two counts of falsely claiming to be an officer of the Prattville Police Department to the victims of the extortion charges.

If he is convicted he faces a maximum penalty of one to 10 years on each count.
