The Monster Makeover Art Auction is back at the Historic Drish House in Tuscaloosa Thursday.

Monster Makeover VIII starts at 5pm with a silent auction and festival.  The Festival will be fun for the entire family with trunk-or-treat, carnival games, face-painting, a bouncy castle, storytelling, spooky costume photos, fortune-telling booth and more -- all are family friendly, and free of charge

According to the Tuscaloosa News, the 2017 Monster Makeover features 35 student pieces from Arcadia Elementary School second-graders, with 70 adult re-imaginings created by 68 grown artists, some of them local or from Birmingham, a few from as far away as Georgia and Oklahoma. The whole grade collaborated on a bonus drawing, given to Mary Calhoun with the Metro Animal Shelter and Libby Listens; she created three dog costumes from that inspiration.  Money raised from the auction, and from sales of T-shirts and full-color books printed with all the art, along with young artists’ descriptions, goes to benefit local arts education and educators.

The Historic Drish House is located at 2300 17th Street in Tuscaloosa.
