Yesterday afternoon, City Council agreed upon a development planned for downtown Tuscaloosa area, between Fourth Street and 22nd Ave. Within the development there are plans to build a rooftop bar. Allied Realty, the developer, redesigned the previous plans and added on another story.

Rooftop bars are the new trend in downtown areas to give a more big city 'feel'. They are extremely hard to get based on codes and safety measures.

Not only will this new development have the rooftop bar, but there will be space for retail shopping and apartments.

Once completed, the overall investment of the development will be worth $20 million.

Construction is estimated to start next month and be finished by July 2017.
