It's amazing how the smallest of children can see a rotary phone and automatically know what it is. Real or fake, toddlers always lift the receivers and put them to their ears as if they instinctively know what a rotary phone is, though they're pretty much obsolete. Earlier this week, I discovered a cassette tape at my house and decided to see if the children knew what it was.

I wasn't surprised that the oldest one had an idea because I think we'd shown her a VHS tape before.... On second thought, maybe we did but maybe we didn't. I think I'll pull one out and ask them about it.

Do your children/grandchildren know what cassettes are? Show them this video without the heading and see if they can identify it.
