Today, the University of Alabama's Crimson Tide will return to the Tuscaloosa Airport at 12:45pm after last night's devastating blow to Notre Dame's undefeated season that made The Tide the 2012 BCS Champions.

Also, according to a release by the University of Alabama, Tide fans will have the opportunity to get close to the Coaches’ Trophy presented by Dr Pepper, which was awarded to Alabama on Monday night as the 2012 national college football champions, The trophy will be on display this weekend at Walmart on Skyland Boulevard in Tuscaloosa Friday from 4pm until 8pm and then again on Saturday at Academy Sports and Outdoors in Birmingham (310 Doug Baker Blvd; Birmingham, AL 35242) from 11am until 3pm. Fans will be able to have a free on-line photo taken with the actual Waterford® Crystal football trophy won by the Crimson Tide at the Discover BCS National Championship.

Interesting facts about the trophy:

    *   The ball that sits atop The Coaches’ Trophy is made of Waterford® Crystal. The trophy is valued at $30,000 and takes three months to produce.
    *   The Coaches’ Trophy is 34 inches tall and weighs 45 pounds. The ball alone weighs approximately eight pounds.
    *   Every year, a new trophy is made. Each winning school keeps The Coaches’ Trophy for permanent display on campus.
    *   Created in 1986, this is the 27th year the American Football Coaches Association has awarded the trophy to the national champion.
