So as I sat at a Railroad Crossing the other day, I notice it was a Amtrak Train. I ask myself, " who Really rides the train these days?" I haven't seen a Amtrak commercial on Television or heard one on the radio in years.

Then to my surprise, I hear Tuscaloosa was just awarded a $314,457 in grant Funds for a new Multimodal station in Alberta's tornado recovery zone.

The city will chip in some funds as well and build a 3000 square foot station that could become the new home for Amtrak in this area.

Humm who'd a though, didn't think any folks rode the train at all anymore outside of major metropolis. Funny Amtrak's Tuscaloosa station see's roughly 12,000 passengers each year. The New station would allow for significant growth in Tuscaloosa rail Transit Passengers, who'd a thought that.
